Until 1962 when a nearby pantry was converted to provide a kitchen, all food had to be carried to the Dining Room from the Great Kitchen, 46 meteres away. To keep food hot, dishes with hot water compartments and copper dish warmers were used. The installation of central heating since 1900 enabled a cast iron heated food cabinet to be placed in the corridor outside.

Located conveniently off the A1(M), near Durham and Bishop Auckland, Raby Castle is a breathtaking venue, used regularly for location filming, a very special place for your event
